Non Residue Security Labels

We offer 3 material versions of non-residue security labels. Choosing the best label version is primarily based on the type of surface where the label will be affixed.

1) Secure-Guard Security Labels

Before/After Removal

This version is our most popular and most versatile non-residue label for smooth non-porous surfaces. Imprinted text, serial numbers and logos are printed on the surface, without any lamination.

To minimize adhesive residue on high energy surfaces (glass, PVC, polycarbonate, plexiglass, etc), remove the label using a 180 degree peel angle.

2) Secure-Guard Plus Security Labels

This label is best for plastics, textured surfaces (both metal and plastic), porous surfaces and other low energy surfaces. Imprinted text, serial numbers and logos are printed on the surface, without any lamination.

NOTE: Due to the high-tack adhesive, if applied to glass, metal, PVC, or other high-energy surfaces, Secure-Guard Plus labels will perform as a conventional security label, which will leave a residue on the surface. Test in an inconspicuous area first.

3) Metallic Secure-ID Security Labels

The Secure-ID label is versatile in detecting multple methods of tampering. Its distinctive metallic appearance also serves as an anti-counterfeiting and authentication feature.

The recommend use is for non-porous surfaces (glass, bare metal, painted metal, etc). The non residue feature works better on high energy surfaces such as glass and PVC, but still for limited times.

A clear laminating film is applied over imprinted text, logos and serial numbers, which provides added durability and protection for the imprinted info. Because this labels contain an aluminum film which is conductive, it may not be suitable for electrical applications where the aluminum is in contact with the circuitry.

This product is also affordable if a custom hidden tamper evident pattern is required for a small order quantity.

After application to the recommended surfaces, the adhesive systems are intended to leave no residue for about 90 days.

In some conditions, the non residue feature may be impaired. In these cases, when removed, the label will still show the OPENED VOID message, but the label may leave an adhesive residue on the surface. Such conditions include:

• Application to some high energy surfaces (glass, PVC, polycarbonate, plexiglas, etc) the non residue feature may only function for 1 day, then the label will revert to leaving a residue.
• If the label is applied longer than 90 days, some adhesive residue may remain on the affixed surface.
• After affixing to the surface, temperatures over 120F or less than 30F may cause the label to leave adhesive residue when removed.

To minimize adhesive residue on the surface, remove the label using a 180 degree peel angle.

In the event there is adhesive residue, it can be cleaned with a citrus-based household cleaner (Goo-gone, Orange Sol, etc) or iso-propyl alcohol.

For the customized imprint, our standard process is to print custom text, logos and serial numbers on the surface of the label using thermal transfer resin ribbons. The thermal inks are durable to mechanical abrasion, scratching and most liquids and are suitable for most applications. However, thermal printed inks can be removed with certain solvents such as gasoline, alcohol, or lotions containing alcohol.
